Homer, Iliad 24.369


Almost ALL of the gods Homer mentioned appear on the Linear B tablets found at Knossos, Mycenae, Pylos and other such sites. Co-incidence? I think not.

SENTENTIAE ANTIQUAE

“Be wary of a man who gets angry before anything happens.”

ἄνδρ’ ἀπαμύνασθαι, ὅτε τις πρότερος χαλεπήνῃ.

So says Hermes as he guides Priam to see Achilles…
